Now, one and a half months later the Monopoly Go team brings it all back worldwide through City Racers Monopoly Go event. The new Minigame Event in Monopoly Go begins on August 01 at 11:00 AM EST and ends on August 06 at 03:15 PM EST.
I can confirm though after playing the game itself that it is a lot of fun. But do pick the correct team to take others down. This is a team game, and If you think you can pull it off and solo win the race for first place better give it another thought. You will need lots of dice rolls, and it will be extremely tough.

How to Pick Team in City Racers Monopoly Go
Once the event is open then you have only 24 hours to choose and make your team. In the first 24 hours, you can select your team & collect some flags. You cannot play the game during this time.
Here’s how to pick your team:
- You have a two person team if your friend joins. So, you both can add two people.
- If your friend invites someone and they join, your team now has three people.
- If you or your friend invite someone from another duo, and they join, your team will have four people.
- Once you add someone to your team, you can no longer manage the team alone.
How to Match with Other Teams
After assembling your team, you must wait 24 hours for the team-building period to expire. While in this state, the game will pair up your team with three other teams for the race.
How to Race and Win in City Racers Monopoly Go
When Race 1 starts, you have about one day to play and try to win. You roll the dice to move your car. There are three dice, and if two dice show the same number, your points double, and your car moves farther. If all three dice show the same number, your points triple, and your car moves even farther.
As you earn points, you also complete laps, which open reward boxes. The more laps you complete, the more reward boxes you get. These boxes contain flags, dice rolls, cash, stickers, events, and you can choose what you want.
- The team with the most points gets 10 medals and comes in 1st place.
- The 2nd place team gets 8 medals.
- The 3rd place team gets 7 medals.
- The 4th place team gets 5 medals.
When Race 1 stops, there is no change in Race 2. When Race 2 is finished, you move to the final race to earn double medals. For instance, the 1st position team gets a total of 20 medals, the 2nd place team earns 16 medals, the 3rd place team earns 14 medals whereas the last-place one earns just 10 medals.
The team with the most medals wins first place and a grand prize at the race’s end. If any two teams have the same amount of medals, both teams will settle draw and get the same rewards. As an example, two teams that would top 1st place get the same grand prize.

How to get Flags for City Racers Event
For the City Racers event, you can earn flags in a few ways. However, the one way it can is by you landing on Monopoly Go board tiles with a flag icon. You will score one flag for each dice used. So for example, if you’re playing with 5x dice and land on a tile that has a flag, then it gives you five flags. Flags can also be obtained by competing in tournaments. City Racers flags can be collected by reaching milestones in the leaderboard tournaments or being among the top positions on the leaderboard.
You can also earn flags from Daily Quick Wins and Daily Free Gifts. Besides getting dice rolls, completing quick wins will also give you some flags. Similarly, Daily Free Gifts will give you flags along with dice rolls. These daily activities are an easy way to collect more flags for the event.
